As the butterfly transforms itself, so do we evolve

“I know that Maslow's theory....(he was an early philosopher) was called the Pyramid of Needs...which teaches us that without the first 3 steps of the pyramid..shelter, food, health, we cannot move on to the other stages. This theory, if followed, leads us to the very top of the pyramid, Self Esteem. I believe this is so true even today. Without good self esteem we cannot move forward to spirituality, service etc., when we are constantly trying just to survive.”

“This wonderful place called the Papilion House is just the place to have those needs met and to move onto all the other areas that help us to become the ‘best people’ we can.”

“You are very loved and respected by all you meet and all the lives you touch.  I am glad that you have these needs met in your life so you can continue to do the wonderful work that is so needed by all of the women in this house and beyond.”

"I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to live at the Papilion House."

"I had no where to go after I got out of rehab, and Papilion House took me in.  They gave me the chance to get back on my feet and be responsible.  I learned so many things there.  I wouldn't trade living there for anything.  Papilion House got me to where I am today!"

"I love you guys!"

"I have lived in Papilion House for 2 months and feel I am growing and learning about myself, about life and the challenges in life.  I'm learning about my Higher Power, 'who I choose to call God', and about working with and being of service to others.  I have so much gratitude in my life today.  I live in a safe home with good, honest people who are working hard on their recovery.  I don't feel like I have to do this alone.  Our 'House Mother', as I like to call her is another recovering addict who see's that all things are taken care of for the house, and she doesn't hesitate to help any one of us.  I feel truley blessed for the opportunities and safety we have at Papilion House."
